River Daze @ D.A. Thomas Day Park, Fort Vermilion, Alberta | Fort Vermilion | Alberta | Canada

Fort Vermilion River Daze started in 1983 and was organized by Sheridan Lawrence Inn owner Wayne Strach. Over the years, several different organizations have coordinated the event. In 2017, the Fort Vermilion Recreation Board is taking over the planning and hope to make it a success as it has been in the past. We are planning the following events; men’s race, women’s race, mixed race, youth, rescue race, iron man competition and raft races. More details will be posted as they are confirmed.

If you would like to donate, volunteer, or support this event in any way please let us know. The more community support we have the better this event will be. We thank you in advance and look forward to River Daze 2017!
The Annual River Daze Event will be held in Fort Vermilion on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th. They are asking all boaters to, if at all possible, refrain from using the area between the Fort Vermilion Dock and Old Ferry Landing between 12 pm and 7 pm. If this is not possible, please try and stay as far away from the canoes as you can. In previous years, boaters that go by at high speeds disrupt the people competing in the events and it is a safety concern as well. They appreciate your understanding.
